Technology Agreement

Section A - Hardware
- Definitions
- “Hardware” is defined as Saga-issued devices and accessories (e.g. laptops, hotspots, tablets, monitors, printers, adapters, auxiliary cables, etc.)
- Care of Hardware
- The employee or AmeriCorps member is responsible for reading, understanding, and following all hardware manufacturer instructions and manuals, as well as the following documents on Saga's Knowledge Base:
- Restrictions on Hardware Use
- The employee or AmeriCorps member shall not:
- Permit the hardware to be used by any person who is not authorized to use such hardware
- Operate or use the hardware, or permit it to be operated or used, to violate law
- Download or install any non-Saga-related programs or applications
- Utilize the hardware for non-work related tasks and purposes without written and expressed approval
- The employee or AmeriCorps member shall not:
- Return of Hardware
- The employee or AmeriCorps member shall return the hardware in the same condition it was received, except for normal wear and tear (as determined by Saga)
- If the hardware is not returned by the end of the employee’s/AmeriCorps member’s term with Saga or is returned in poor condition due to improper care (which includes improper packaging of the hardware when shipped), Saga Education has the right to impose a fee for the replacement/repair cost of the hardware
- If the employee has maintained full-time employment for a minimum of 3 consecutive years (or the AmeriCorps member has served 3 consecutive years of service) with Saga at the time of their departure, at Saga’s sole discretion, ownership of the computer may be transferred to the employee. Transfer of ownership of the computer will only take place if all of the following conditions have been met:
- The employee’s/AmeriCorps member’s term with Saga has concluded
- Saga's Director of IT has delivered written approval of the transfer
- Saga's IT Team has securely wiped the computer
Section B - Software, Services, and Platforms (SSPs)
- Definitions
- “Saga SSPs” are defined as software, services, and platforms accessed using a Saga Education email and/or a Saga-purchased license
- SSPs include, but are not limited to:
- Google Workspace applications: Saga’s primary source for email, document sharing, video conferencing, survey administration, and calendar event management
- Slack: Internal communication and community-building platform
- Salesforce: Saga’s student information and program outcomes database
- ADP: Saga’s human resource management software
- Zoom: Video conferencing
- MATHia: Adaptive, online math platform
- Use of SSPs
- The employee or AmeriCorps member is expected to:
- Use all SSPs responsibly and productively, and in accordance with all license agreements, to fulfill their job functions
- Demonstrate professionalism in their use of Saga-related SSPs at all times
- Securely log in and out of SSPs that store identifiable student information/data
- Comply with school district, state, and federal student confidentiality laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g and 34 CFR Part 99
- The employee or AmeriCorps member is expected to:
- Restrictions on SSP Use
- The employee or AmeriCorps member shall not:
- Permit any Saga-related SSP to be accessed or used by any person outside of Saga Education
- Leave identifiable student information/data in any form accessible or unattended
- Share any student’s information from any source with another student, parent, community member, etc.
