Chromebook Mic Picking Up Background Noise

If background sounds are being picked up when using the microphone, reducing the microphone sensitivity may help with this.

To adjust the microphone sensitivity on a Chromebook, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the status area in the bottom-right corner of the screen, where the time is displayed.

  1. Click the arrow across from the sound icon.

3. Adjust the microphone sensitivity using the slider. We have found around 50% sensitivity is generally a good level.
