Internet is Running Slowly
If you're having issues loading webpages or maintaining an internet connection, the first thing we'd need to check is the connection itself. Here's a few things you can try!
- The first thing you could try, if possible, is to swap over to a different internet connection and see if your speeds improve.
- If the connection causing issues is from a Saga-provided router, please contact the IT team at helpdesk@saga.org to resolve.
- Perform an internet speed test at speedtest.net or fast.com
- Anything below 30mb/s for your download speed would be considered slow.
If your speed test comes back with a slow download speed, you can attempt the following to try and resolve:
- Turn off your router, then modem, for 60 seconds. Then turn on the modem, then router and reconnect.
- If you only have a router, restarting the router will also work.
- Check for operating system updates on your device.
- Pending operating system updates could download in the background and cause internet connection speed issues.
- For MacOS:
- Go to System Settings > General > Software Update and download and install any updates available. (pictured below)
- For Windows:
- Go to the Start Menu, then search for "Check for Updates" and download and install any updates available. (pictured below)
If, after trying all of these steps you're still experiencing connection issues, please contact the IT team at helpdesk@saga.org and we will take a look!
