MacOS: Installing your MDM Profile

This article will go over how to ensure your Mac device is enrolled in our MDM, JumpCloud.

MDM Stands for Mobile-Device-Management. This is what we use to communicate with your device to ensure that it has the proper updates, software, and security. Your device may have JumpCloud installed on it already.

Just having JumpCloud installed does not necessarily mean that your device is enrolled. The steps below will guide you through the simple process of enrolling your Mac.

Step 1: Download the MDM Profile here.

Step 2: Access the Finder and navigate to the location the file was downloaded to (typically the Downloads folder). Double-click on the file. You will then see a notification pop up instructing you to go to System Settings to finish installing the profile.

Step 3: Navigate to System Settings > Privacy and Security > Profiles to view the MDM Enrollment profile.

Step 4: Double-click on the profile and click Enroll.

Step 5: Enter your device's account password to start installing the profiles. Upon completion, a list of profiles will appear.

Step 6: The JumpCloud Service Account Utility will automatically open and prompt you to choose your username and enter your device’s account password.

Step 7: Select your account from the menu, enter your password, then click Create Account.

    • If your username is not listed in the dropdown, contact IT for assistance.

Step 8: The Mac is now enrolled in the JumpCloud Admin Portal. Please be sure to notify the IT team that the installation is complete on your end.
