Workvivo User Guide
This guide aims to help you better navigate Workvivo, which is the intranet of our organization. The following sections include some main features you can utilize. For all features and capabilities, please explore this guide.
Posts
Making a post
- Click on the text box on top that says "What's going on".
- Type the content you want to post. If you want to upload a picture/file, click on the upload icon and select the appropriate option.
- By default, the audience of the post is everyone. If you want to limit your audience, click on the globe icon and select your desired audience.
- When you are ready, click "Post" to publish the post. You should see it right away in your activity feed.
Shortcuts
There are a few options you can choose under the "What's going on" box.
- Give a Shout-out: You can give a shout-out to your colleagues for the amazing things they do! Click the "Give a Shout-out" tab, select the recipient(s) of the shout-out, and just make the post following the usual steps.



- Post a Value Update: You can post content to embrace our organization values. Click the "Post a Value Update" tab, select the value to want to post on, and just make the post following the usual steps.



- Ask a Question: You can post a question to your colleagues in selected spaces (You can only ask questions in spaces you have joined. Joining a space). Click the "Ask a Question" tab, fill out the question form, and choose space(s) to ask the question in.



Adding a poll
- Click on the text box on top that says "What's going on".
- Click on the bar chat icon at the bottom to add a poll.
- Describe your poll, and add as many options as you need by clicking "Add Poll Option". If you no longer want a poll, click "Remove Poll" and it will become a regular post again. When you are ready, click "Post".
- You will see your poll in the activity feed right away, and the results would be shown if there are votes.

Comments and reactions
Comments
- Under every post, there is a box that says Leave a comment...
- To comment, click on the box and start typing. Once you are done, click "Post".
- You will see your comment in the comment section!
Reactions
For reactions, you can either click on those posted by others to give the same reaction, or you can click on the emoji icon to choose your own unique reaction.
Filtering activity feed
- In the corner of your activity feed, there is a filter icon. Click on it and you can select the types of content you want to see in your feed.
- You can also choose to only view the content from certain space(s) or team(s). Click on "Filter by Spaces / Teams", then select the space(s) and/or team(s) accordingly.
Spaces
Joining a space
- On the navigation bar on the top, click on "Explore", then click on "Spaces" to view all available spaces.
- You can either type in the search bar or just keep scrolling down to look for the space you want to join.
- Once you find a space, you can just click "Join Space" to join, or you can click "Open Space" to see what it is like before joining. For spaces that are private and require permission to join, you can click "Request to Join" and wait for approval.
- Once you have joined a space, it will appear in the "My Spaces" section. You will be able to view and participate in activities in the space.
Creating a new space
If you do not see a space with a theme that you are interested in and want to create one, you can summit a request for it.
- On the "Spaces" page, click on "Request New Space" in the upper right corner.
- Fill out the request form and click "Save" at the end.
If you are to create a new space, make sure you manage it with effort! Our IT team may archive/delete spaces that that has had little to no activity within the past 6 months
Links
Not only does Workvivo allow you to make posts and join spaces, but it also contains quick links to useful organization resources.
- On the left of your activity feed, there is a "Links" section that contains "Useful Links" and "Useful Forms".
- Expand the tabs by clicking on them, you will see quick links to important things so you can find them easily.
Notifications
To manage notifications, click on the bell icon on the upper right corner of the page, then click on the settings icon.
General notifications
In General Notifications, you can select on the list the events that you want to be alerted by, and toggle the ways you will be alerted. "Push" refers to a notification on your mobile device if you have the mobile app installed (Getting the Mobile App), and "Email" means you will get emails in your Saga account.
Space subscriptions
Space subscriptions are specifically for space-related notification settings. You can choose to be alerted when new content is posted to a space, and you can toggle specific spaces that you do/don't want updates from. "Push" refers to a notification on your mobile device if you have the mobile app installed (Getting the Mobile App), and "Email" means you will get emails in your Saga account.
Mobile App
You can download Workvivo as an app on your mobile device. To get the app, search for "Workvivo" on the Apple App Store for iOS, or the Google Playstore for Android. You can also click the links below:
